We believe that the transformative power of song should be accessible to anyone who wants it. That's why all of our after-school programs are offered on a sliding scale.

Financial Subsidy

Neighborhood Choir Program

These are community-based, after-school programs that provide high quality musical instruction to students ages 8-18 at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, empowering them to develop confidence in their expression and embrace their role as creative ambassadors for their communities.

The tuition scale shows the recommended amount per income level but Uniting Voices Chicago will always work with individual family constraints. Tuition is prorated based on the length of participation for the singer.

What does the experience look like?

  • Two rehearsals per week

  • Several performance opportunities throughout the year

  • Touring opportunities

  • Workshops throughout the year by guest artists and culture bearers

  • Connections with youth across the city and around the world

Dimension

Dimension is a unique ensemble for singers approximately age 12 and up who are beginning the vocal transition into emerging tenor, baritone and bass voices.

What does the experience look like?

  • Two rehearsals per week

  • Several performance opportunities throughout the year, both independently as well as with Voice of Chicago

  • Touring opportunities

  • Special workshops led by innovative artists and culture bearers

  • Connections with youth across Chicago and beyond

Voice of Chicago

Our most advanced ensemble, Voice of Chicago empowers high-schoolers across the city through an extensive performance schedule that includes international touring and collaborations with Chicago’s finest cultural institutions.

What does the experience look like?

  • Two to three rehearsals per week

  • Robust performance schedule at some of Chicago’s most iconic venues

  • Collaboration opportunities with trailblazing artists and Chicago’s finest cultural institutions

  • Opportunity for international touring experiences

  • One-of-a-kind workshops and excursions with cutting-edge artists and culture bearers

  • Connections with young people across Chicago and around the world

Prelude

The Prelude program provides beginning level vocal instruction and literacy for first and second grade students. Through songs and games, singers will be introduced to foundational musicianship skills. Prelude is available at the Lincoln Park/DePaul and Hyde Park locations.
