Our 65th anniversary season honored the history that propelled us to this moment, celebrated decades of singers, alumni and artists, and manifested a path forward as the next generation of young leaders build a future strengthened by song. Our singers launched the Gage Park Neighborhood Choir, performed with the Eagles and toured to Egypt!
Though the 2020-21 season placed unprecedented hurdles along our march towards a harmonious world, CCC did what we do best: stare into the face of our greatest challenges and meet the moment with unity, tenacity, and grace. We did not just survive, we thrived.
The young people of Chicago represent the next generation of global ambassadors and changemakers. Growing up in a dynamic, leading world city, our youth bridge the coasts of this land of opportunity, come to know peers different from themselves and learn to overcome adversity.
Chicago Children’s Choir grew to 5,200 voices strong through expansion of our partnerships with Chicago Public Schools and growing enrollment in our neighborhood-based after school programs, including the launch of the Bucktown Neighborhood Choir.
CCC exceeded the $12 million goal for the Raising Voices Campaign, a three-year, comprehensive fundraising initiative to expand choral programs throughout Chicago, offer incredible artistic opportunities to our students, and establish an endowment to secure our financial future.
CCC celebrated its 60th anniversary and demonstrated what is possible when diverse young people perform together at a high level: from singing back-up vocals for Chance the Rapper at his Magnificent Coloring Day festival to performing with Yo-Yo Ma at his Concert for Peace at St. Sabina.
