Heiji Choy Black is a fashion industry veteran and entrepreneur, best known as the founder of Jeune Otte, a sustainable womens clothing line. She now consults with fashion companies in Chicago and beyond, specializing in brand development, design, sales, and strategic growth.
Currently, she serves on the board of trustees at the Art Institute of Chicago where she is chair of the Architecture and Design Acquisition Committee, which raises funds for and approves new acquisitions into the department. She is an active contemporary art collector, and serves on the board of the Arts Club of Chicago, and the Board of Govenors at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
She has served in many roles in the fashion industry from fashion and style editor at Chicago Magazine, to boutique owner of hejfina in Wicker Park in the early aughts and lecturer on fashion history. She graduated from Tufts University in 2000 with a BA in International Relations. She, her husband and three children live in Lincoln Park.
