Katlin Nelson received her Bachelors of Music Education from Andrews University in December 2025. There she was able to develop her skills as a music teacher and a performer through experiences like participating in the University Singers and the Deliverance Mass Choir. In both ensembles she took on the role of section leader and was hired as the Undergraduate Choral Assistant for the University Singers. She participated in various clubs and programs like the Women’s Empowerment Club as treasurer, the AUSA Senate where she took on the project of renovating the music practice room in the girl’s dorm on campus, and was in a production of the opera Albert Herring with her fellow voice students. After Katlin’s time at Andrews, she applied for Uniting Voices’ Future Music Educators program and ended up joining the team as a conductor.
Katlin Nelson grew up in the Southwest Chicago suburbs where she developed a love of music at a young age. She participated in band and choir throughout middle and high school, and those experiences informed her decision to pursue music in college. Outside of school she loves to attend live music performances of all genres and spending time with her friends and family exploring the city.
